Ride to 'Tortilla Flat'
A friend of mine, who I used to ride motorcycles with in Spokane, moved to Arizona.  Darin lives about five miles west of me.  Excited about leaving the snow behind, he wanted to ride his Yamaha R1 as soon as possible.  I knew of a great ride with awesome scenic views and some mean road twisties about 20 miles from where I lived.  The ride was out to a little town called ‘Tortilla Flat’.  Although tiny by anyone’s standards, Tortilla Flat is the last town between Apache Junction and Roosevelt Dam.  The road out there is one of the most crooked roads in the nation.  Tortilla Flat is the only surviving stagecoach stop on the route.
