New Year's in Del Mar, California Chad and I were invited to spend new years in Del Mar California.  Del Mar is about 25 minutes out of Dan Diego and is right on the coast.  Del Mar is about six hours outside of Phoenix, long drive.  Anyway, Del Mar seems to be a popular surfing community because there wasn't once that I didn't see someone on the waves. For the surfers, wet-suits are a must.  I took my shoes off to stand in the water for a while and my feet and ankles hurt so bad, from the cold water, that I wasn't sure I could walk for a while after. For the first day, we found a little hidden Italian cafe.  The waiter even spoke broken English with a heavy Italian accent.  The food was great.
